Homey moments and gearing up for a Broadway Debut!

Hello world,

I am sitting on my best friend's couch with her adorable little white dog on a lazy Sunday afternoon. The sky is blue, the air is crisp, and I'm wearing a sweatshirt and jeans. I just finished a McIntosh apple and some peanut butter. It's such a new englandy day. This is actually the first moment I have had to sit and breathe and reflect since I got on the plane to come back east! It's been a whirlwind of family and wedding. If there is one thing I am not deficient of right now, it is love. Yay!!!!

I have had a wonderful time catching up with my family. It is so good to see those big brown eyes. Those eyes that look just like yours and love you unconditionally. There is really nothing like the love of your family. My heart was warmed during breakfast with my mom, brother, and his beautiful little girl, Eve. We ate gluten free pancakes and laughed and seth spilled maple syrup all over me and it was just one of those moments! Eve made my heart stop as we walked in the park and I heard her yell: "Auntie Fran, Auntie Fran!" She wanted to tell me about a squirrel. I told her he was probably storing up on nuts for the winter. I love her a lot.

The Wedding was absolutely beautiful. It was at the Fuller Craft Museum in Brockton, MA. The ceremony, albeit freaking freezing ass cold, was outside by a beautiful lake surrounded by multi-colored trees. The most picturesque fall wedding ever.

Everything from the readings, songs, and vows to the little bookmarks and books to take home were personalized with the unique love and personalities of the couple. They are truly in love - and it showed in every inch of the day. Here they are singing a beautiful duet called "The Book of Love."

Get a load of this beautiful bride. Can we say absolutely classic?

My friends Matt and Meredith enjoy some Flan!

Dave and I sang and played the best we could in the windy- freezing conditions. I think our vocal chords were frozen and Dave couldn't feel his fingers! But it felt good and cozy to be standing next to my old partner again and belting out 'Jackson' and our other ole country favorites. I'm really looking forward to our gig next week.

This morning I sang at my old church, Christ Church Unity. It was wonderful to be 'home.' It's as if I never left and we made some beautiful music. I also made it just in time for the roll-out of the CD we recorded. It is a wonderful, inspiring disc of songs and prayers that define the spirit of the church. My friend and amazing singer, David Gethmann, poured his heart and soul into the project and it really shows. The CD will be available soon on the web for $15 and all proceeds will go to the little amazing ministry in Brookline that changes hearts and definitely changed my life for the better! I will keep you posted.

Here's a goofy pose with David and my other dear friend, Stephen.

The itinerary for the week is chock a block full of stuff. All good stuff. Most amazing is that I'm off to see one of my oldest friends, Alfonzo Parker Jr., in his Broadway debut performance in 'South Pacific'!!! I am pissing myself with excitement. Alfie and I performed together for years on stage in high school and throughout college in our choir, Essence of Joy. He is and will always be one of the most beautifully unique, spirited, and talented souls I have ever known. His faith is rock solid and his hard work, determination and unshakable knowing that God will provide got him to the place he is today. He is a serious inspiration for me and I can't wait to see him!!!!!!!!!

Little side story. Alfie took me to his senior prom. He was a senior and I was a junior. We had just finished a production of 'The Wiz.' He played The Wiz and I played the evil witch, Evillean. We decided to base our 'costumes' for prom on the show - taking inspiration from our character's signature colors. We went to a Goodwill and spent $25 collectively. I had an AMAZING 70s vintage Purple gown with a boa and Alfie found a Green leisure suit to go under his green sequin cape from the show. He showed up that night to pick me up with more glitter on his body than I had ever seen. My corsage was completely covered in silver glitter paint. It was fan-freaking-tastic! We jumped in my Dad's 12 seater, red GMC Van. We called it the Prom Mobile - and covered it with signage: "TO THE PROM AND BEYOND" "PROM OR BUST". I had made a prom mix tape that we blared throughout the streets of State College, PA on our way to kick prom in the big fat booty! We were like celebrities there. Everyone wanted a photo with the freaky deaky theater kids in their ridiculous get ups. We danced the night away. (Alfie is an amazing dancer. So when I say he danced. I mean we needed buckets for the amount of pure and glorious sweat that was created on the dance floor.) In fact we danced so hard that Alfie's pants split right up the back and my dress was ripped in the back by the end. Our carriage turned into a pumpkin so to speak. But we didn't just 'go' to Prom. We made Prom our bitch! And that is how we roll. And I'm so blessed to have this beautiful man in my life and so excited to see my prom date on the GREAT WHITE WAY (this is where Alfie would make a black joke.). Also, this is a picture of the message Alfie wrote in my yearbook his senior year.

This is proof for anyone who doesn't believe in manifesting or the power of prayer. If you believe it, you seriously WILL achieve it!

Here is your song and quote for the day:

"Believe in Yourself" - The Wiz

"High achievers spot rich opportunities swiftly, make big decisions quickly and move into action immediately. Follow these principles and you can make your dreams come true. " - Robert H. Schuller
